An advocate for children and families for more than 30 years, Ms. Allen currently serve as President on the Stockton Unified School Board of Trustees. Ms. Allen has served on several committees which include: The League of Woman Voters; San Joaquin County Affordable Housing Task Force; San Joaquin County Court Appointed Special Advocate; Business and Professional Woman’s Organization; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee; Code Enforcement Task Force; Coordinator National Night out; Taft Community Center Junteenth Celebration Committee; Healthy Children’s Collaborative; Local Childcare Planning Committee; YMCA Board of Directors; President of Central Valley Association for the Education of Young Children; and Stockton NAACP Youth Council Co- Advisor. Ms. Allen is also President of the California Coalition of Black School Board Members, including a Delegate for the California School Board Association.

Mrs. Williams has been in Counseling and Employment & Training for over 40 years. She is currently the Administrative Services Manager for San Joaquin County Employment & Economic Development Department/WorkNet. Allet works with many community agencies to leverage service, and provide effective and efficient service to all customers. A Board Member of the African American Chamber of Commerce of San Joaquin, Allet also partners with the Human Service Agency, Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin County, Employment Development Department (EDD), Housing Authority of San Joaquin County, just to name a few. Allet inspires enthusiasm and commitment. She believes that everyone should be given the opportunity to make a difference in this world.

It is Ms. Okanlawon’s passion to recognize, capture and lift up those low heroes and sheroes who make a difference in the lives of so many, using media – videography.

After a full career and retirement as a registered nurse, Mateenah continues a passion of her love for, and interest in capture and record through the media of videography.

Mateenah is currently the Producer/Director/Host of the “The Culture Connection”, on Comcast Channel 26. The show presents Artists, “The Jewels of the Community”, including her travels, “Africa & the Caribbean” and Local Events. Ms. Okanlawon’s talent in utilizing the media to uplift the community i.e. showcasing the positive aspects of people and Special Events highlight the betterment of the community.

A Stockton native Ms. Presley is an Associate Producer of Inner City Productions, which produces some of top 50 jazz acts in the Tri-Valley. A former member of the Bay Area Organization of Executive Assistants in Silicon Valley, Barbara has participated, and served in the University of Pacific Upward Bound Program. A former Op-Ed writer for a small local Stockton Newspaper, Ms. Presley has utilized her writer skills in promotional and communicational works in the advertising of Inner City Productions Venues. Barbara’s outreach and collaboration of musicians through Inner City Production has produced some of the best shows in the Tri-Valley area.

An active member of the Usher Board, including membership with the District Association of Usher Board, and of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ms. Whitaker-Kohn is a member of God’s ThroneMissionaryBaptistChurch. Working with the Haven of Peace Homeless Shelter, Ms. Whitaker-Kohn has passion to help women who are seeking a second chance in life to become productive members of society. Ms. Whitaker-Kohn serves a model to the women of most need at the Haven of Peace Homeless Shelter.

Ms. French is a native of Stockton, California and graduated from EdisonSenior High School. A member of ProgressiveCommunityBaptistChurch, Ms. French, upon completion of Cosmetology training, was State Certified in February 1991.Ms. French views the profession of hair styling as an art, “with my hands and comb as paint brushes”, “and my clients as canvasses”. Ms. French says, “We should give freely to each other, the knowledge that comes with experience”.

Efemeh is a top dance performer at StaggHigh School, with demonstrated leadership in developing choreography. An active participant in basketball; track & field; and cheerleading, Efemeh is a motivator who inspires other students to excel and foster positive relations among peers. Efemeh goal is to major in the performing arts, and attend an American Musical and DramaAcademy.
